Who We Serve

Two paths. One philosophy.

Whether you're five years from retirement or twenty, the question is the same: does my money support the life I actually want? We start there — and work backward.

Common Questions

What you might be wondering.

Getting started
Who do you work with?
Our team has advisors who work primarily with business owners, physicians (medical professionals), pilots and transitioning military officers, including people who are dealing with the complexities of business growth and eventual exit, tax-efficient savings strategies, pension & TSP optimization, RSUs and locums income. Our process is designed for clients who want clear guidance and a coordinated strategy, not generic, one-size-fits-all advice.
What services do you provide?
We help clients with financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, insurance planning, business-owner planning, estate coordination, and more. The recommendations we make depend on your goals, circumstances, and priorities.
What happens during the first meeting?
The first meeting is primarily a conversation. We'll learn about your goals, current situation, concerns, and what you would like help accomplishing. We'll also explain how our process works and determine whether working together makes sense.
Do I need to become a client after the first meeting?
No. The initial conversation is designed to help both of us decide whether there is a good fit. There is no obligation to move forward.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
Bring any questions you have. If available, it can also be helpful to bring a basic summary of your accounts, income, expenses, insurance coverage, or retirement goals. Don't worry if you don't have everything prepared, we can guide you through the process.
What happens after I schedule an appointment?
You'll receive a confirmation with the meeting details and any information we'd like you to review beforehand. We'll also explain what to expect so you can come prepared with your questions.
How quickly will you respond if I contact you?
We typically respond within an hour during business days. If you schedule directly through our calendar, you'll receive an immediate confirmation.
I'm not ready to work with an advisor yet. Can I still contact you?
Absolutely. Many people begin by gathering information. A conversation can help you understand your options and decide what, if anything, you want to do next.
Fees & fiduciary duty
Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. As an independent Registered Investment Adviser, we are legally held to the fiduciary standard 100% of the time, putting your interests first with a duty of loyalty and care.
How much does an initial consultation cost?
The initial consultation is free. If we believe we may be a good fit, we'll clearly explain our fees and the services included before you make any decision.
How do you charge for your services?
Our fees are based on assets under management; costs are tiered based on total invested assets. We’ll discuss the specific costs applicable to your situation before beginning any engagement to make sure you understand what to expect for the cost of our services.
Do I need a certain amount of money to work with you?
We do not have a minimum amount of money to work with us, but we do have minimums for certain services, meaning some services will not be available to all investors. If you are unsure, contact us anyway. We’re happy to explain who we serve and point you in the right direction if we aren’t the right fit.
Working together
How is your firm different from other financial advisors?
Our advisors focus on specific individual clients and use a process designed to help our clients have confidence in knowing their advisor deeply understands their needs. Our approach emphasizes structured personalized planning, education, ongoing communication, and comprehensive advice rather than simply providing a product or isolated recommendation.
How do I know whether we're a good fit?
A good fit usually involves shared expectations about communication, services, fees, and the type of guidance you need. Our first conversation gives us an opportunity to discuss those points openly.
How often will we meet?
Most clients meet with us quarterly, with additional communication when important circumstances change. The exact schedule depends on your needs and the services we provide.
Can we meet virtually?
Yes. We offer web-based (tele-wealth) and phone meetings for clients who prefer to meet remotely. In-person meetings are available at our Summerville and Charleston, SC locations if applicable.
How long does it take to develop a financial plan?
The timeline depends on the complexity of your situation and how quickly we receive the necessary information. Most plans take anywhere from 2–6 weeks to complete and up to 3–6 months to fully implement, depending on complexity. We'll explain the process and timeline during the initial meeting.
Do you only manage investments?
No. Investment management may be one part of the relationship, but we also consider areas such as retirement income, cash flow, risk management, tax coordination, estate planning coordination, business planning, or education funding, depending on your needs.
Can you work with my existing accountant or attorney?
Yes. With your permission, we can coordinate with your other professional advisors so that everyone is working from the same information and toward the same objectives.
What if I already have a financial advisor?
That's completely fine. You may still find value in a second opinion or a conversation about your goals and current strategy. We'll respect your existing relationships and will not pressure you to make a change.
